Community Outreach & Service

At St. John’s Episcopal Church, we’re committed to making a positive impact in our community and beyond. Guided by compassion and faith, our outreach programs address the needs of the most vulnerable among us and foster social justice. Here are some ways we serve:

  1. Feeding and Housing Our Neighbors: We support local food pantries, host community meals, and partner with shelters to provide essentials to those experiencing hunger and homelessness.

  2. Building Stronger Communities: Through partnerships and hands-on projects, we work to improve access to safe, affordable housing and foster community development, ensuring everyone has a place to call home.

  3. Health and Wellness Support: We offer free health screenings, addiction recovery support, and wellness workshops to help our neighbors access quality healthcare and emotional support.

  4. Education and Enrichment Programs: Our congregation supports after-school tutoring, literacy programs, and school supply drives to provide children and adults with tools for lifelong success.

  5. Supporting Refugees and Immigrants: In partnership with Episcopal Migration Ministries, we assist with resettlement, provide legal support, and offer a welcoming community for newcomers seeking a better life.

  6. Caring for Creation: As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, we engage in community garden projects, recycling drives, and conservation initiatives to help protect and preserve our planet.

  7. Advocating for Justice and Peace: We believe in promoting justice for all and work to address issues like racial reconciliation, prison reform, and anti-poverty measures through advocacy and community organizing.

  8. Responding to Disasters: In times of crisis, our congregation supports Episcopal Relief & Development to provide emergency relief and long-term recovery assistance for communities affected by natural disasters.

At St. John’s, we welcome everyone to join us in our mission of service and compassion. Together, we can make a difference. Whether you’re interested in volunteering, donating, or simply learning more, we invite you to be a part of our outreach community.
